Resources

We care about your student success at Iowa State and in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Here are a few academic and personal resources that may be helpful to you.

LAS International Student Network

The International Student Network provides a sense of connection and community for international students in LAS through year-round programming. We host socials, like grabbing boba tea or going to the movies, and professional development opportunities, such as networking events and employer visits.  Join the fun and come to our events! All LAS students are welcome to attend events.

LAS Director for International Student Success

Navya Mannengi serves as the LAS Director for International Student Success and is your support system throughout your whole college journey. She is here to help you achieve your academic, social or personal goals! Learn more about Navya here.

LAS Career Services

LAS Career Services can help you write a resume, search for internships, navigate on-campus career fairs, prepare for job interviews and more. Make an appointment early in your college career to see how they can assist you.

International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO)

The ISSO office provides many resources to assist you while at Iowa State.

Academic Success Center

Academic coaching, tutoring, supplemental instruction and more. Free tutoring is provided for all international students. Visit the website at: https://www.asc.dso.iastate.edu/

Campus Jobs

CyHire allows students to search for jobs that employers have posted. These are mostly hourly jobs on campus that allow students to supplement income while in school. As an international student, you can only work on campus unless you have permission from ISSO (International Students and Scholars Office) for academic related work off campus.

Scholarships

LAS provides scholarship opportunities for incoming freshmen, current students, and transfer students. Both domestic and international students are encouraged to apply each year during their college career. Additionally, there are departmental and university scholarships for which you can apply.

I gained confidence. ISU provided many diverse opportunities to practice leadership skills, research skills, and interaction with others. I also gained love from ISU. There were so many people I have met who encouraged and cheered me to study and step outside of my comfort zone to explore the world. The love and confidence I gained developed me as a better person so that I can take further steps in a bigger society.
